Dr Benson Benjamin

Dr Benson Benjamin is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in general adult psychiatry, and old age psychiatry. He has extensive experience in the assessment and management of complex psychiatric and neuropsychiatric conditions, particularly where mental health and neurological disorders intersect.

Dr Benjamin graduated with an MB BS from the University of Mysore in 2002 and later completed a Diploma in Clinical Psychiatry. To further develop his expertise he obtained an MSc in Clinical Neuropsychiatry in 2020 and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (FRCPsych) in 2025.

A significant focus of Dr Benjamin’s practice is neuropsychiatry, with specialist expertise in the psychiatric and psychological consequences of neurological illnesses. His areas of interest include stroke, traumatic brain injury, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, functional neurological disorders, Aviation psychiatry and neuropsychiatric conditions associated with physical health disorders. He also has extensive experience in the assessment and treatment of memory disorders, including mild cognitive impairment, dementia, delirium, amnesic syndromes, oncology psychiatry and long covid mental health meanagement.

In addition, Dr Benjamin manages a wide range of psychiatric conditions, including depression, anxiety and affective disorders. His holistic approach aims to improve both mental wellbeing and overall quality of life for patients with complex neurological and psychiatric needs.
