Ms Barbara Ryan

Professor Barbara Ryan is a distinguished optometrist and academic who serves as an integral member of the team at Monnow Eye Care. In addition to her role at Monnow Eye Care, she holds significant positions at Cardiff University's School of Optometry and Vision Sciences. Her roles include serving as the Director of Postgraduate Taught Programmes and Co-Director of the Wales Optometry Postgraduate Education Centre (WOPEC). 

As an optometrist, Professor Ryan brings a wealth of clinical experience and expertise. Her responsibilities include health services research, teaching, and practice, showing her comprehensive approach to optometric education and patient care. She has previously held various other academic positions, and has also gained experience in community practice and hospital practice.
