This has been a successful journey, but one that took time to get right. Having a suspected allergy to nickel led to Mr Kayani insisting on metal allergy testing to ensure i recieved the correct implant. This test showed that I have a severe allergy to nickel and an allergy to copper. Had Mr Kayani not insisted on this test , I may have been given an implant that I later reacted to. I am going home today, having had my surgery one day ago. Jhave made a great recovery and been looked after amazingly well by Mr Kayani, his team and the other hospital staff. I have been given clear guidance on what to expect over the next few weeks and how to contact Mr Kayani with any concerns. Overall I am very happy.
I had a wonderful stay in the hospital. The surgery and the outcome were second to none. All credit to the surgeons for rebuilding my knee after 2 failures elsewhere. Would be very happy to return to RNOH
I would like to say a huge thank you to my My Kayani and his team for the exceptional care I have received before, during and after my surgery. I was understandably very anxious in the lead-up to the operation, particularly when I was told just how complex it was likely to be. Knowing that it could take around five hours, that there was a possibility of being non-weight-bearing if the bone broke, and that the original engineered implant could not be used was quite frightening. However, my consultant took the time to explain everything to me so clearly and honestly, which gave me enormous confidence and reassurance. The operation itself went incredibly well. I was amazed to hear afterwards just how stiff my knee had been and that my thigh muscle had become stuck to the bone. My consultant was able to release as much of this as possible and give me the best opportunity to improve the movement in my knee. I am now only a few days into my recovery, but I am already up and walking with crutches and working with the physiotherapists on stairs. I feel incredibly positive about what has been achieved. I am so grateful for the skill, expertise and care that went into my surgery. I know this was not a straightforward operation, and I feel extremely lucky to have been under the care of someone with such specialist knowledge and experience. Most importantly, throughout the whole process I have felt listened to, informed and completely in safe hands. Thank you for giving me the confidence to face what was a very daunting operation and for giving me this opportunity to move forward ...
Read moreI have been suffering my whole life with a rare Arterial Venous Malformation in my right knee, this was misdiagnosed many times until it unfortunately caused severe osteoarthritis. I have always been told a knee replacement was going to happen from as young as 12 years old. I was very nervous about moving to adult care, however, Mr Kayani has been nothing short of amazing since being under his care! He explored all avenues possible to prevent me having this massive surgery so young and we worked very hard together to make sure that when the TKR was inevitable, I was fully prepared and understood all the risks. Mr Kayani listened to all my concerns and we were able to go back and forth. Unfortunately I do suffer with some mental health problems and expressed my concern for being alone, especially at night, post op. Mr Kayani listened, acknowledged and fought for everything I could have ever needed to make sure I was comfortable, happy and relaxed as could be. I eventually had the surgery a few days before my 25th birthday and as much as I was absolutely terrified, when Babar came in he made me feel reassured. My whole family have commented on how amazing he has been throughout the admission, very professional, knowledgeable, caring and he genuinely wants the best for all his patients no matter what it costs. He has listened to all the concerns both me and my family have had post operatively and has been very quick to answer or get any issues resolved. Mr Kayani is the only consultant that has got to know how I work as a person and he uses that to both his and my advantage to...
Read moreMy experience could not have been better, I had my right knee replacement in March 26 and here I am just 5 months later getting my left knee replacement, the best thing I would say is that Dr Barbar Kayani does the most fantastic job so we mustn't let his amazing efforts go to waste, so we should work hard to do our part and honestly you will have the best outcome, my right knee is brilliant and it's only been a few short months, it's hard sometimes but stick with it and you'll have your life back. Many thanks to Dr Kayani, what absolute legend and a Genius.
Needed to see Mr Kayani due to a road accident. I spoke with Ruth his secretary who made me an appointment within 7 days. Mr Kayani took time to look at my knee and the new set of xrays and reassure me the knee was in place! Always has time to explain everything and I have complete confidence in him. Excellent consultant
Mr Kayami was very friendly and very good at explaining what procedures he was going to carry out. He was able to calm me down and give me the courage to wait for the surgery.
