Dr Austen Worth

Dr Austen Worth is a Consultant Paediatric Immunologist and Paediatrician who specialises in diagnosing, treating, and managing complex immune system disorders in children. Committed to providing compassionate and comprehensive care, Dr Worth works closely with young patients and their families to navigate challenging health conditions. His clinical approach combines state-of-the-art diagnostic evaluations with tailored treatment plans, ensuring that each child receives individualised care designed to promote their health, development, and overall well-being.

In his clinical practice, Dr Worth manages a broad spectrum of rare and complex paediatric conditions. His areas of expertise include primary immunodeficiencies, Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID), Wiskott-Aldrich syndrome, chronic granulomatous disease, common variable immunodeficiency, hyper-IgM syndromes, and 22q11 microdeletion syndrome. He also provides specialised management for autoinflammatory syndromes, hereditary angioedema, and recurrent or unusual childhood infections. Dr Worth oversees advanced therapies, including immunoglobulin replacement therapy, home administration training, thymus transplantation, stem cell transplantation care, and cutting-edge gene therapy protocols.

Dr Worth qualified in medicine with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (BM BCh) degree, having also completed a Bachelor of Arts (BA) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). He is a Member of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH). In addition to his clinical responsibilities, he serves as an Associate Professor in Molecular Immunology, conducting translational research into molecular pathophysiology and immune cell defects to continuously improve therapeutic strategies for paediatric patients.
