About Dr Arul James
Dr Arul James is a highly experienced Consultant in Chronic Pain Medicine and Anaesthetics, with over nine years of practice across both the NHS and private sectors. Based in the Midlands, he currently sees NHS patients at George Eliot Hospital in Nuneaton and provides private care at The Vesey Private Hospital in Sutton Coldfield, where he leads the Pain Management Service.
Dr James completed his medical degree (MBBS) at Pondicherry University in India in 2010. He is a Fellow of both the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA) and the Faculty of Pain Medicine (FFPMRCA), reflecting his specialist expertise. We started seeing Dr arul james for my aunts chronic pain in her abdomen following several surgeries she has suffered with ongoing pain which is life limiting and has rendered her housebound. As a last resort we decided to go private, Dr Arul james stood out to us as he was someone who was offering services for abdominal pain. We made an appointment and from the initial consultation Dr Arul James made us feel listened to - explains everything in detail taking the time to make sure we understand, he is a pleasant nice man who doesn't rush you and you always feel comfortable and at ease with him. We are ongoing treatment for her chronic pain we have had the lidocaine infusion and are waiting to have the intra muscular steroid injections as the pain has reduced by around 20 percent and hopefully the injections will aim to help with a round 50 percent of the pain, we like that Dr Arul james has been open and honest from the start with his expectations. We travel from Wolverhampton to see him at the Vesey hospital so grateful that it is fairly local.
Dr James is very professional, kind and caring. He kept me informed each step of my treatment and discussed everything with me to give me time to ask questions. My nerves were put at ease. Throughout the procedure he told me what was happening to help reduce my anxiety. I would highly recommend Dr James. He leads a brilliant team who are all outstanding.

Excellent experience today, with Dr James, every time I’ve had this procedure done, he always explains what the procedure entails also during the procedure he is very reassuring and always makes sure I’m ok with what’s happening. Afterwards he will ask how I’m feeling and asks me if I have any questions. He is always caring and professional.
