Dr Arthur Pratt

Dr Arthur Pratt is a dedicated Consultant Rheumatologist with expertise in diagnosing and managing complex musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions. He specialises in early inflammatory arthritis and experimental rheumatology, focussing on identifying rheumatic conditions at their earliest stages to deliver prompt, targeted care. Dr Pratt is committed to providing personalised, patient-centred care, working closely with patients to alleviate joint pain, protect long-term mobility, and improve daily quality of life.

In clinical practice, Dr Pratt addresses a broad range of conditions, including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, osteoarthritis, and seronegative inflammatory arthritis. His clinical interests encompass personalised referral pathways, disease mechanisms, and the identification of biological markers to guide tailored treatment strategies. He utilises ultrasound-guided joint procedures for detailed diagnostic evaluations and administers innovative disease-modifying therapies, participating actively in experimental trials aimed at preventing disease progression.

Dr Pratt completed his undergraduate medical qualification at Leeds Medical School in 2001, alongside an intercalated Bachelor of Science in Molecular Medicine. Following general postgraduate medical training, he was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians in 2004. He subsequently completed specialist Rheumatology training, securing a competitive research fellowship and earning his PhD in 2011 for research into novel diagnostic tools for early arthritis. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
