Dr Andrew Metcalfe

Dr Andrew Metcalfe is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon who specialises in lower limb surgery with a dedicated focus on conditions affecting the knee. He provides comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients experiencing joint pain, ligament injuries, and degenerative joint conditions. Dr Metcalfe aims to help patients restore mobility, alleviate pain, and return to an active lifestyle through tailored surgical and non-surgical management plans.

Dr Metcalfe earned his primary medical qualification from the University of Sheffield in 2003, later completing a doctoral degree (PhD) focusing on knee biomechanics and joint health. He completed higher specialist surgical training on the Welsh rotation, followed by advanced fellowship training in knee surgery in both the United Kingdom and Australia. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in Trauma and Orthopaedics, and maintains active memberships with the British Orthopaedic Association, the British Association for Surgery of the Knee, and the British Orthopaedic Research Society.

Beyond his direct surgical practice, Dr Metcalfe serves as an Associate Professor, leading clinical trials designed to evaluate and enhance the effectiveness of orthopaedic procedures.
