Dr Andrew Marshall is a consultant cardiologist based at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, where he leads the Echocardiography service. He is accredited both in cardiology and general internal medicine.

Dr Marshall studied medicine at Downing College, Cambridge and Cambridge University School of Clinical Medicine. His Cardiology specialist training was based in the North West London region, including a period of clinical research at Harefield hospital leading to award of a medical doctorate (MD) in 2013. He then completed subspecialty training in advanced multimodality cardiac imaging at Harefield Hospital.

Dr Marshall was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at East Sussex Helathcare NHS Trust in 2015 where he led the Echocardiography, Heart Failure and Adult Congenital Heart Disease services at Eastbourne and Conquest hospitals. He moved to Kingston Hospital in 2022 to lead the Echocardiography service, including developing an in-house complex echocardiography service.

Dr Marshall is able to treat general cardiology complaints but has a particular interest in the use of multimodality cardiac imaging in patients with ischaemic heart disease, valvular heart disease, cardiomyopathy, and heart failure. He has undertaken research work in this area and published papers on the prognostic value of exercise capacity in ischaemic heart disease and the role of echocardiography and radionuclide imaging in heart failure patients who have implantable devices.

Dr Marshall has a number of senior leadership roles in other clinical and educational organisations. He is the a Council member and current Treasurer of the British Heart Valve Society, and a Council member of the Cardiology Section of the Royal Society of Medicine. He is one of the Training Programme Directors for Cardiology for Health Education Kent, Surrey and Sussex (HEKSS).
