Miss Alison Carter provides clear communication, ensuring patients are at ease. She offers professional and thorough assessments for conditions like tongue tie, ear infections, and other ENT issues in children, with detailed explanations for parents. Procedures such as frenectomy and ear microsuction are performed with gentleness, resulting in instant improvement. Families highly recommend her expertise, particularly for ear health, adenoid conditions, and tongue tie concerns.
We saw Miss Carter alongside Margaret from the infant feeding team this week regarding my newborn son's tongue tie. Ms Carter has an exceptional bedside manner and immediately made us feel at ease and listened to. She was extremely thorough in her assessment, and allowed us time to weigh up the pros and cons of the frenectomy procedure to make an informed decision. We went ahead with the tongue tie release procedure and were given so much support with breastfeeding and latch- we noticed an instant improvement in feeding which is no longer painful for me, and is now effective for my baby. I cannot thank Miss Carter enough for the impact she has made!
We booked a consultation with Dr Carter as we wanted a second opinion on our daughters ENT issues. Dr Carter was extremely helpful & informative, we were given some great advice and now have a better understanding of our daughters conditions & where to go from here. We would highly recommend her.
Absolutely amazed by the care our son received from Dr Carter. She put us at easy before surgery and made sure our son was calm and comfortable. We felt we were in the best hands at all times. Highly recommend.
What an amazing consultant. She didn’t rush us and gave us her complete time she went above and beyond discussing my concerns but looking at my child’s overall health. I couldn’t thank her enough.

I'm so glad that you felt that the appointment was thorough and had such a positive experience. Thank you for your kind words!
Thorough appointment with clear advice and steps forward. Many thanks

That is a pleasure! So glad that we have a plan and you felt everything was explained well.
A friendly and professional service from start to finish, cannot recommend highly enough.

Thank you, that is really kind - I'm so glad that you felt everything was friendly and professional
Dr. Carter had the exact bedside manner you'd hope for with your toddler and the exact level of expertise you'd hope for when weighing options for your child. That she has children, and thus I could ask "What would you do if it was your own?" was an immense help.

Thank you for such a thoughtful review. I’m glad you felt supported when discussing the various options for your child, and coming to a decision together about what was best for him. Hopefully no more ear infections!
Excellent care and wonderful manner with my daughter. Incredibly thorough and very clear explanation of the issues and management plan. Thank you!

Thank you so much, I’m so glad you felt everything was explained well!
Dr Carter was brilliant. She had a great manner with our three year old daughter and efficiently removed wax blocking each of her ears. An excellent service.

Thank you so much - although I can not take all the credit. Most 3 year olds do not tolerate it as well as your daughter, so she did all of the hard work!
Exceptional Pediatric ENT Care - Highly Recommended My 3-year-old son had been suffering from multiple ear infections, and we suspected he was experiencing hearing difficulties. After contacting numerous doctors who ultimately didn't accept pediatric patients, someone recommended Dr. Alison Carter. We were able to schedule an appointment quickly with Dr. Ali for both a hearing test and consultation. Her staff members are genuinely caring and helpful. Dr. Ali was incredibly kind and patient with both my son and me. For the first time, my child actually enjoys going to the doctor! When Dr. Ali initially explained that my son needed surgery, I wasn't prepared for the news. However, she patiently answered all my questions a few days later when I had recovered from the initial shock, even though she had already explained the process thoroughly during our first visit. On the day of surgery, we were pleasantly surprised by how wonderfully the entire team interacted with children. Dr. Ali's expertise we already knew, but her entire team—including the anesthesiologist and nurses—was equally impressive. They explained everything to us and, more importantly, to my son using age-appropriate language and visual aids in a playful manner that kept him calm and unafraid. As a result, we felt at ease too. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Ali to any parent seeking an ENT specialist for their children.

Thank you for writing such a detailed and lovely review. I am so glad that he enjoys coming! The Portland theatre and nursing teams are absolutely amazing and I'm so glad that you had such a positive experience.
Alison is a wonderful clinician, incredibly kind, patient and caring and always has time for everyone. Her patient care is exceptional. She has been a mentor and fantastic colleague throughout my own training and I couldn't recommend her more highly. She kindly arranged to see my own son when he had stridor (breathing problems) as a newborn and I would take my own children to see her again in an instant.
