Mr Alfonso Vasquez-Perez

Dr Alfonso Perez is a consultant ophthalmologist at Moorfields Eye Hospital, with private consultations at Benenden Hospital. He has a wealth of experience and specialises in cataract surgery, cornea surgery, and refractive surgery. He also has particular expertise in the management of complex cataract and cornea cases, such as anterior segment reconstruction, all forms of corneal transplantation, and keratoprosthesis.

Dr Perez gained his Doctor of Medicine in 2003 in Barcelona before going on to complete two fellowships in cornea and external diseases in the UK, the first at Sussex Eye Hospital, Brighton and the second at the renowned Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. In 2013, Dr Perez became a fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology. He later achieved a certificate in laser and refractive surgery from The Royal College of Ophthalmologists and went on to gain his FRCOphth (Fellowship of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists) as well as his FEBOS-CR (Fellow of the EBO Subspecialty Cataract & Refractive Surgery Diploma) from the European Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr Perez has previously worked at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, East Kent Hospitals, and Hospital Municipal de Badalona, Barcelona.
