Dr Alexandros Boukas

Dr Alexandros Boukas is a highly skilled Consultant Neurosurgeon who specialises in complex cranial and skull base pathologies. With a reassuring and patient-centred approach, he is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of neurosurgical care. His clinical practice is particularly focused on skull base surgery, pituitary surgery, and the management of NF2-related schwannomatosis. As a dedicated Specialist within the national service for NF2-related schwannomatosis, Dr Boukas provides expert, multidisciplinary care for patients facing these complex, life-altering conditions.

Dr Boukas obtained his primary medical qualification from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, earning his Bachelor of Medicine degree. Following his core medical training, he secured a highly competitive national training post in neurosurgery in the United Kingdom. To further refine his surgical expertise, he completed a prestigious, highly specialised fellowship in endoscopic pituitary and skull base surgery at a leading London teaching hospital. This advanced training equipped him with extensive experience in both microscopic and minimally invasive endoscopic procedures, allowing him to perform intricate cranial surgeries with a high degree of precision.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Boukas is deeply committed to medical education, research, and professional leadership. He serves as a Clinical Lead for ebrain, the largest global web-based training platform for clinical neuroscience, and has previously led the national annual eBrain neurosurgery examination.
