Dr Alexander Jones

Dr Alexander Jones is a dedicated Consultant Anaesthetist committed to delivering safe, high-quality, and reassuring care to every patient under his supervision. Understanding that undergoing surgery and receiving anaesthesia can be a daunting experience, Dr Jones prioritises clear communication, safety, and individualised treatment plans. His patient-centred approach ensures individuals feel fully informed, comfortable, and well-supported throughout their surgical care journey.

With extensive clinical expertise, Dr Jones specialises in Regional Anaesthesia, Orthopaedic Anaesthesia, and Ambulatory Surgery. He has a particular clinical interest in short-stay arthroplasty surgery, utilising targeted nerve block and modern pain-management techniques to optimise patient recovery and reduce post-operative discomfort. His skill in advanced regional techniques enables patients undergoing joint and reconstructive procedures to experience effective pain control, promoting faster rehabilitation and a smoother post-operative recovery.

Dr Jones earned his medical qualification (MBBS) from St Barts and The Royal London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2011. Following his primary medical education, he completed specialist training in anaesthetics within the Peninsula and Severn Deaneries, alongside two specialist fellowships in Adelaide, Australia, covering Regional Anaesthesia as well as Pre-Hospital and Retrieval Medicine. Demonstrating a strong commitment to medical education and clinical excellence, Dr Jones holds a Master's degree in Medical Education from Karolinska Institutet and a Postgraduate Certificate in Regional Anaesthesia from the University of East Anglia. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Anaesthetists (FRCA).
