Dr Akib Khan

Dr Akib Khan is a highly dedicated Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in trauma and orthopaedic surgery. Known for his compassionate and patient-centred approach, he provides comprehensive care for individuals presenting with a wide spectrum of musculoskeletal conditions and acute traumatic injuries. Dr Khan strives to achieve the best possible functional outcomes for every patient through tailored treatment plans, whether non-surgical or operative, helping individuals return to their daily activities with confidence.

His areas of clinical expertise encompass paediatric orthopaedics, adolescent knee injuries, and trauma care. Dr Khan possesses extensive experience in diagnosing and managing soft tissue knee conditions, including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, meniscal tears, cartilage defects, and patellofemoral instability. In addition, his practice involves managing lower limb fractures, paediatric musculoskeletal conditions, and performing minimally invasive arthroscopic surgical procedures.

Dr Khan completed his foundational medical degree (MBChB), followed by Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS). He undertook higher surgical training on the West London Rotation and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education from the University of Cambridge. He achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Trauma and Orthopaedics, FRCS (Tr&Orth), as well as Fellowship of the European Board of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (FEBOT). He was also awarded the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT) Diploma, securing first place globally in the examination.

Beyond his direct clinical work, Dr Khan is deeply involved in surgical education, clinical research, and professional leadership. He serves as an Honorary Clinical Lecturer at Imperial College London and holds leadership positions, including Council Member for the Trauma and Orthopaedic Section of the Royal Society of Medicine. Through his academic contributions and ongoing involvement in training future surgeons, Dr Khan remains dedicated to delivering evidence-based, high-quality care to all his patients.
