I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis and met with Mr Raza. He referred me for an MRI scan. The scan showed that the endometriosis had spread to my bowel so I met with Mr Karim to discuss the surgery that would be done on my bowel, he has an excellent bedside manner. Mr Karim explained everything clearly and if I had any questions before or after the surgery I could email his secretary Lucinda who would forward the query to Mr Karim and I received a reply very quickly. I found this very reassuring and helped reduce my anxiety about the surgery. I had a bowel shave, disc excision and partial resection. Mr Karim came to see me everyday at the hospital to ensure my bowels were healing as expected and guided me on what to eat post surgery. My recovery is going so well and I am back to eating normally within just two weeks post surgery. I cannot thank Mr Karim and Mr Raza enough for the amazing work they did to remove all the endometriosis from my bowel.
Mr Karim was part of the multidisciplinary surgical team for my endometriosis excision surgery. I had endometriosis that involved the bowel. I was struggling with high levels of anxiety due to the severity of my condition. Mr Karim made me feel that I was in the safest of hands. His communication skills are outstanding. Everything was explained so clearly and his calm and steady manner put my mind at rest and helped me feel more able to cope with the surgery. After the surgery, while I was still in the hospital, he followed up with me and again engaged all my questions and concerns. He exudes so much maturity, experience and depth as a medical professional and as a surgeon. It is also obvious that he is informed not only by his experience of the conditions that he treats but also by current research and approaches. Any patient consulting with Mr Karim will feel safe and cared for. Everything for my surgery was so carefully thought through in the context of a multidisciplinary team. I am so grateful for the care I received.
My sincere thanks to Mr Karim. He operated on me with Mr Raza on 23rd April and I really appreciate the excellent care provided. I had severe endometriosis and adenomyosis. The endometriosis had spread to the bowel. I was very grateful that Mr Karim visited me each day and kept me informed. He made sure my dietary requirements were met and that I wasn't moved on to solid foods too quickly, as well as ensuring it was absolutely safe for me to be discharged from hospital; minimising the risk of any future complications. I was so impressed by his dedication - even liaising with the nursing team about me at 8pm on a Sunday. From our initial appointment, Mr Karim took the time to explain everything in detail and answer any queries. I felt safe in his care and am making an excellent recovery. I no longer have the terrible pains I had prior to surgery, so it's amazing! I have passed my thanks on to Mr Raza and the Cromwell Hospital as well. I feel very lucky to have been cared for so well.
Mr Karim explained everything to me about my illness and the procedure I had. He was very good during the procedure and had a very good bedside manner.
Mr Ahmed Karim was extremely kind and cared about my medical issue. He explained everything clearly and asked lots of questions. He made me feel very comfortable telling him about my health.
