About North Downs Hospital
North Downs Hospital is one of Surrey's leading private hospitals with an excellent reputation for delivering high quality healthcare for self-pay insured and NHS patients, conveniently situated close to Caterham (Junction 6 of the M25).
By investing in advanced medical technology, the private hospital offers a wide range of treatments and services including minimally invasive surgery, endoscopy procedures, orthopaedic surgery including spinal treatment and pain management, general surgery including hernia surgery, ophthalmology including eye laser surgery, gynaecology and urology.
We have a modern theatre complex comprising of an operating theatre with laminar airflow and a separate dedicated Endoscopy Theatre. The theatres are equipped for a wide range of surgery. There is also a Treatment room for Minor Operations.
We have excellent levels of cleanliness and have effective infection control methods resulting in very low infection rates. All our facilities are regularly inspected and approved by the Care Quality Commission.
Our consultants and nursing staff are highly experienced and have your care and comfort as their highest priority. During and after treatment, you will receive a standard of care which is second to none and all patients have the reassurance that theatre, paramedical services and a resident RMO are available 24 hours a day.

My overall experience of North Downs Hospital was very good, the staff that looked after me were great, I was told how my operation went, what medication I was taking etc great communication. The only slight issue was before my operation we were asked to attend a session to ensure we knew my capabilities post op, I was asked to bring my partner and I explained that would mean my 7 month daughter would also need to attend, I was assured that was fine. Unfortunately she was due a sleep and very irritable. My partner took her out of the room and outside the building to calm her. When he came back in she started to cry so he left again. As I followed them our two nurses were talking to each other saying why would you bring a baby to the hospital and clearly disapproving….my intention wasn’t to have them both there but I was told it was recommended and would be beneficial.
I can thoroughly recommend Mr Panose for hip replacement surgery and 2 of my friends have also had theirs done by him, also with great results. He works with a lovely team at Northdowns Hospital, from Mr Green the anaesthetist to all the nurses and I am very grateful to have had such a good experience and recovery.

My recent visit was for my 6 week post operation check up. Mr Panose checked all was healing well answered my questions and gave me some tips for my new hip going forward.
