Areas of expertise
The Chenies Mews Imaging Centre is a new and purpose designed home for our world-renowned cardiac MRI service. Our service has earned a reputation as world leader in clinical and research cardiac MRI, thanks to a team of highly respected and experienced cardiologists and clinical specialists.
All scans are performed under the direct supervision of our trained specialists and they will issue your scan to your referring doctor within 24 hours. The Chenies Mews Imaging Centre pride themselves on providing a choice of convenient appointments, with referrals accepted from all clinical practices.
The Chenies Mews Imaging Centre is a specialist MRI facility which develops and utilises the very latest techniques for imaging of the Heart, Brain, Spine and Peripheral Nervous System, as well as offering specialist imaging for abdominal, musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions. We offer the full spectrum of imaging, from routine examinations through to cutting-edge techniques, some of which are not offered elsewhere.
Cardiac Magnetic Resonance Imaging (CMR)
Cardiac MRI is commonly regarded to be the most accurate non-invasive method of assessing the structure and function of the heart, often providing valuable information which may not be achievable using other imaging methods such as x-ray or ultrasound. Cardiac MRI can provide clinical information which enables early diagnosis of abnormalities of the heart and guide physicians in decision making for effective treatment.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) for patients with Cardiac Pacemakers and Implanted Cardiac Devices
For many years, cardiac pacemakers and other implantable cardiac devices have prevented patients from benefiting from MRI scanning, due to potential risks posed to the device by the strong magnetic fields associated with the MRI scanner. The Chenies Mews Imaging Centre is pleased to be able to offer a new MRI scanning service to patients who have implanted cardiac devices that may have prevented them from having MRI scans elsewhere. Using the latest technology, our expert multidisciplinary team of cardiology and radiology consultants, cardiac technicians and specialist radiographers work in collaboration with the cardiac device manufacturers to enable to us to hold regular scanning sessions for patients with cardiac devices who may require MRI scans of any body part.
Specialist 3T Neuroimaging
The Chenies Mews Imaging Centre works in partnership with our satellite facility, the Queen Square imaging Centre at the world famous National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery. With this partnership, Chenies Mews is able to offer cutting-edge 3T MRI for neurological conditions, using many sequences which have been developed through in-house research collaboration.
Fetal MRI
The Chenies Mews Imaging Centre is equipped to offer high quality fetal MRI scaning, which is recommended in cases where a possible abnormality has been detected during prenatal ultrasound scanning, or where further clarification is required . Our unique service is led by consultant neuroradiologists who have undertaken specific training in fetal MRI and are experts in interpreting fetal MRI scans. Following the 1.5T MRI scan (which involves no radiation and presents no risk to the baby), the radiologist will sit down with the mother and review the scan immediately, providing the mother with fast results and an opprtunity to ask questions.
Prostate MRI
The Chenies Mews Imaging Centre provides state of the art 3T multiparametric MRI scans of the prostate. Led by an expert team of imaging specialists, our scans are able to produce a more detailed image of the prostate than standard MRI scans, providing your consultant with more information about whether there is a cancer, where it is located, and whether it may have spread. Scans are reported within 48 hours using internationally reocgnised criteria, providing you and your doctor with confidence in the quality and clinical effectiveness of the scan and results. The service is recognised by all major insurers and we offer competitive prices for patients who are funding the cost of their care themselves.

I am claustrophobic and yet the brilliant doctors in this center managed to make me feel comfortable with MRI. Best staff ever!
The Practice is very clean, the staff are professional , courteous and efficient. My radiographer (Shane ) was helpful, reassuring and very professional. I felt supported and safe at all times.
Really lovely experience seen on time and Ruby talked me through the process I would be undergoing and what I should expect. Machine was so much quieter and more comfortable than what I've used before.
Chenies mews excellent however had to be redirected to chenies following mri failure at queens square. Unfortunately resulted in fall between sites due to poor pavements. Queens square should really have arranged a cab for the patients given most have existing health conditions.
Staff, especially Kim, were kind, friendly and considerate to the needs of myself during my ferroscan today.
