After a warning from the neurosurgeon & oncologist who had been monitoring the regrowth of my meningioma in September 2023 that it required surgery & as it was a second operation it was at high risk of stroke, bleeding, bone infection, going through old scar tissue, the tumour was pressing against a large vein. My daughter suggested I sought a second opinion, we chose Mr Shoakazemi who also specialises in my type of brain tumour.  He confirmed…the risks were very high indeed, the brain tumour had grown too big for fractionated radiotherapy and surgery through the old wound of some 20 + years ago was the only option. We found Mr Shoakazemi to be extremely approachable, professional, calm, warm & informative.  I feel incredibly lucky to have had the faith on a date said to be the unluckiest day in the yearly calendar …Friday 13th October to undergo surgery with such a gifted neurosurgeon. I am (thankfully to Mr Shoakazemi) walking straight, talking straight & feeling fully blessed.

Had bad back pain, which Ramesh quickly identified as a slipped disc. Super friendly, understanding and importantly knowledgeable!! Was given the correct medication to relieve the pain while i was referred for a MRI and CT injection. Top quality consultant who acted super efficiently.

Very reassuring and careful manner. Provides a good analysis of the situation explaining options fully. The overall impression is you are in a safe paid of hands, and post-operation proved to be the case.

I was diagnosed with a meningioma and asked for a referral to Mr Dorward after careful research. I was very impressed with both the expertise and care he showed in explaining my options. I had an operation to remove the tumour and have been delighted with the result and would gladly recommend him to anyone else in the same position.

Mr Akram made me feel at ease and explained in detail the options I have in the future. He answered all my questions and gave me confidence in his skills and ability. .This was followed up by a comprehensive letter from him received quickly after my appointment which confirmed everything I had spoken about.

David is first and foremost an outstanding human being, he is also a first class communicator, and an incredibly gifted surgeon. My experience has been nothing less than first class, we discussed options, pros and cons, and came to a joint decision. Long story short, after an L4/L5 fusion I am now pain free, mobile and enjoying my life so much more, the fact that it coincided with my retirement is an added bonus....I cannot recommend David enough.

Mr Banerjee was kind, courteous and sympathetic. He listened carefully and asked relevant questions to understand how to treat my chronic symptoms. Following an MRI scan, he explained and showed me the causes for my lower back pain. As I am a keen sportsman, he suggested epidural injections rather than the option of spinal decompression/ fusion operation, so that I can continue my rock climbing and cycling activities, uninhibited Mr Banerjee performed the injection very calmly and carefully. I felt relaxed and comfortable to such an extent that my blood pressure readings remained low throughout the procedures.

Mr Taylor is not only an excellent surgeon but also very empathetic. I went to see him in September 2023 and I was in intolerable pain. Within 2 weeks he operated and I woke up pain free. After 6 months I have full movement in my neck, the pain has not returned and my scar is barely visible.

I am so incredibly grateful to have Dr Paraskevopoulos as my surgeon. From diagnosis onwards, Dr Paraskevopoulos was incredibly clear in his explanations, and really listened and responded to all our questions and concerns. He took the time to ensure we were fully informed of the balance of risks, benefits and complexities of the surgery, and secured the best team to undertake it. I really believe things would not have gone so smoothly without him. His kind and professional manner gave us huge confidence, and I could not be happier with the care I have received.
