Mr Arun Ranganathan

Professor Arun Ranaganthan is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon with extensive expertise in the following areas:

• back pain,
• neck pain,
• disc replacement,
• lumbar disc disease,
• cervical disc disease,
• scoliosis,
• spine trauma,
• spine tumours.

He sees private patients at:

• The London Clinic, OneWelbeck, 30 Devonshire Street
• The Princess Grace Hospital

After receiving his primary medical degree, Prof. Ranaganthan undertook an Advanced Spine fellowship at the Neurosciences Centre and Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, where he was taught by renowned surgeons in orthopaedics and spinal neurosurgery. He later gained his doctorate in spinal surgery from the University of Nottingham for his work at the Sir Peter Mansfield Centre.

He went on to complete further spinal fellowships in Leeds and London and was appointed Consultant at the age of 35. Additionally, he is an Honorary Professor of Orthopaedic and Spine Surgery at Bhopal University in India and Bach Mai University Hospital in Vietnam. In 2004 and 2009, Prof. Ranaganthan became the youngest recipient of the ISSLS award for best international spinal research. He has also received the Spine Society of Australia award.
