From the Moment I met Prof Patel at our first consultation, I knew I was in excellent hands. He explained the surgery that I required (whipple) in great detail and answered the questions that myself and my Wife had with great care and compassion and really made me feel a lot happier and comfortable as to what I should expect over the coming months. In hospital, the Prof once again demonstrated to me his passion for, just being one of the best at what he does. Everytime he came to see how I was progressing, still in hospital, post op, he listen intently to how I was feeling, not just physically but mentally as well and showed me so much compassion, love and care, even on Christmas morning the Prof came in to see how I was doing, he didn't need to, when many had finished work for the holiday. Mr Stuart Gould gave me the time and an good explanation pre surgery. On the Surgery day he explained his plan for the surgery well. Post Surgery he came and saw me and explained what had occured, that it all went as expected. The follow up appointment, Staurt explained the putcome from the surgery and also reassured me on the current pain and swelling. I was very happy with the service provided to date.

What was impressive in the consultation was the time and care in simple language taking me through the "problem" and the solution, and the potential (even if minimal) risks; and in checking that I really did understand what would be involved in the procedure. I therefore left confident in proceeding; and his follow up letter for my GP and insurers set out in detail the full extent of our discussion.
