From initial consultation to my procedure My experience at Clare park under Dr Veramootoo was nothing short of exceptional. Very informative on what to expect and also after care. Would highly recommended to anyone looking for a specialist

I was very ill when I was first admitted to the SADU. My experience there was not good and I was frightened by the behaviour of another patient. Mr Veeramootoo got me moved to Parkside, with a less uncomfortable mattress, the one I had in SADu was like sleeping on a pile of bricks, and supplied with correctly fitting compression stockings and incontinence pads. I shall always be grateful for his attention to detail in ensuring I was as comfortable as possible, as well as his invariable good humour and positive attitude. Most importantly, of course, I am grateful for his surgical expertise.

After years of suffering from GERD and a hiatal hernia I am finally reflux and regurgitation free! As someone with a chronic illness it can be difficult to feel seen and heard, Mr Veeramootoo did exactly that! I am very lucky to be under his care.

Mr Veeramootoo was very informative and helpful in determining my best approach and timings. Surgery went well and recovery is on track. Mr Veeramootoo was helpful providing guidance on how much to do during the recovery period and gently held me back from overdoing it too soon.

I had a inguinal hernia repair successfully done by Mr Veeramootoo four years ago. Another hernia developed on the other side and I specifically asked that Mr Veeramootoo repair this one. He has a very pleasant manner and is very clear about the pros/cons of the repair options available and the options for anaesthesia.

My pre and post op appointments with Mr Veeramootoo were at Heatherwood Hospital in Ascot. A lovely new hospital with easy parking. Mr Veeramootoo explained what would happen and it all happened very quickly - within 2 weeks of my first pre-op appt, I was in theater for surgery. Surgery was at Frimley Park Hospital. The team there were excellent! After arrival at 7am, I was quickly settled into my room, met with both the anesthetist and Mr Veeramootoo and was in Theater by 10am. All the nursing staff were super friendly. I woke up around 2.30pm. Food arrived. Both the anesthetist and Mr Veeramootoo popped in to check on my progress. There was no rush to leave, but when I did, the nursing staff provided a good set of instructions for post op care / meds etc... Everything went the way I had been told it would. Post op, seeing the photos taken during my operation allowed me to understand further what had happened and therefore understand the impact and my expectations for recovery. I don't think anyone would say they enjoy going to hospital, but Mr Veeramootoo and the team made it as good an experience as possible.

Cracking the code of post-ERCP pancreatitis: predictors, prevention, and proven strategies from 3323 surgeon-led procedures - PubMed

Our surgeon-led ERCP service achieved a remarkably low PEP rate, reflecting careful technique and compliance to a structured protocol. Risk was shaped more by patient and procedural factors than by operator experience, underscoring the value of disciplined, evidence-based practice in minimising PEP.
