Mr Scott Evans is a highly trained Consultant Orthopaedic and Oncology Surgeon with extensive expertise in musculoskeletal oncology and complex limb reconstruction. He completed his higher surgical training on the prestigious Birmingham Orthopaedic Training Programme, followed by two highly competitive fellowships specialising in sarcoma surgery and complex limb reconstruction at the internationally renowned Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre, Oxford, and the Birmingham Bone Tumour Service.
Appointed as a Consultant Orthopaedic and Oncology Surgeon at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in 2017, Mr Evans works within one of the largest orthopaedic oncology units in the world, delivering care to both national and international patients. Known for his approachable, compassionate, and patient-centred approach, he was honoured to receive the Clinician/Doctor of the Year Award at the Blue Heart Ceremony.
Mr Evans specialises in the resection and complex reconstruction of musculoskeletal tumours. His clinical practice also encompasses primary and complex arthroplasty, including revision joint replacement, allowing him to offer comprehensive surgical solutions tailored to individual patient needs.
A passionate educator, Mr Evans is an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Birmingham, where he regularly lectures medical students, examines OSCEs, and supervises both general practice and orthopaedic trainees. He also serves as a registrar appraiser and is an invited faculty member on several national higher surgical training courses. In 2024, he was appointed Deputy Head of the Undergraduate Academy at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital.
Committed to advancing evidence-based practice, Mr Evans has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and several book chapters in orthopaedics. He has a strong interest in collaborative research, particularly in joint replacement and tumour surgery, with the aim of improving patient outcomes. He is an active member of a number of orthopaedic and oncology societies, and is regularly invited to present his work at national and international meetings.

Mr Evans was prompt regarding my appointment. He explained things very clearly and was thorough in his examination and initial assessment. I was referred for an x.ray which occurred at this initial appointment with a further appointment required for an MRI scan. Mr Evans communication style was friendly and informative. He requested a nurse present whilst I was being examined. In all I felt relaxed and at ease.
