Dr. Olfa Koobar

Dr Olfa Koobar is a French Consultant Neonatologist at CMC Dubai and head of the NICU. She has a MD in Pediatrics and a subspecialty in Neonatology. She has proven competency in pediatric patient care, medical knowledge and practice-based learning and improvement.

Dr Koobar is French Board certified. She completed all her medical studies in France. She obtained her medical degree from Nice Sophia Antipolis University in 2009 then her Paediatrics specialty degrees from Strasbourg University in 2013. She pursued a Neonatology fellowship and obtained her DESC subspecialty degree in 2015. She worked in France before moving over the Middle East where she currently works and have done so for the last few years. She gained expertise in handling extreme premature babies from 23 weeks of gestational age, and continues to incorporate this into her practice.

Dr. Koobar is passionate and skilled in dealing with extreme premature infants and very low birth weight newborns, she also runs clinics for breastfeeding support and developmental care implementation. Her approach is to deliver family centred care, understanding the difficulties that a new child can bring to families and giving all patients the great benefit of her skill, expertise and caring manner.

Dr. Koobar loves to follow her newborns patients from discharge until the age of 18 and to give them ongoing advice for nutrition or required vaccines. She is also actively involved in the general paediatrics medical consultations.
