Dr Stephen Walter Martin

Dr Stephen Walter Martin is a dedicated and compassionate General Practitioner based in Denman Prospect, Australia. He is committed to providing evidence-based, patient-centred healthcare to individuals and families across all stages of life. With a strong belief in the importance of preventive medicine, Dr Walter Martin focuses on building enduring doctor-patient relationships to ensure continuity of care and to support both the physical and mental well-being of his patients.

Dr Walter Martin possesses an extensive academic and professional background. He graduated from the Australian National University (ANU) with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2013, having previously completed a Bachelor of Science with Honours (BSc(Hons)) and a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD). Additionally, he holds a Graduate Diploma in Teaching (GradDipT) and a Diploma in Child Health (DCH). Dr Walter Martin is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).

In his clinical practice, Dr Walter Martin enjoys all aspects of General Practice, with particular interests in family medicine, child health, and mental health. Alongside his clinical work, he is deeply involved in medical education. He serves as an Associate Professor and the Head of General Practice at the Australian National University, where he oversees the academic team and teaches the next generation of Medical Students and General Practice Registrars. Prior to embarking on his medical career, he also worked as a High School Teacher and a Research Scientist.
