Dr Thilan Walgamage is a highly dedicated General Practitioner and Aesthetic Physician with a diverse international background. Having practised medicine across multiple countries, including Canada, Oman, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan, he brings a wealth of global experience to his patients. Dr Walgamage has a profound passion for surgical care, which led him to pursue extensive training in general, plastic, and cardiothoracic surgery. His primary clinical focus lies in comprehensive General Practice, advanced skin cancer medicine, and non-surgical aesthetic treatments.
With a strong surgical foundation, Dr Walgamage specialises in the early detection, diagnosis, and advanced treatment of skin cancers. He is highly skilled in performing complex surgical procedures, including advanced skin flaps, skin grafts, and reconstructive surgeries of the nose, ears, and eyelids. In addition to his skin cancer work, he offers a range of cosmetic procedures and injectables, such as anti-wrinkle treatments, dermal fillers, and scalp platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy. He works in close liaison with Dermatologists, Plastic Surgeons, and Oncologists to ensure his patients receive the highest standard of co-ordinated care.
Dr Walgamage obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2003. He subsequently earned a Diploma in Family Medicine in the United Kingdom in 2006, completed his Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS Part 1, England) in 2008, and achieved his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in Canada in 2011. Committed to fostering the next generation of medical professionals, he serves as a Lecturer at the Australian National University. He is also an active Medical Educator and Supervisor for General Practitioner Registrars, sharing his extensive clinical knowledge and expertise.
