Dr Ryan Hodges

Dr Ryan Hodges is a highly accomplished Obstetrician and Gynaecologist who specialises in maternal-foetal medicine and foetal surgery. He is dedicated to providing comprehensive, reassuring, and individualised care to women, ranging from those experiencing low-risk, healthy pregnancies to those with the most complex, high-risk obstetric needs. With a deep commitment to clinical excellence and patient safety, Dr Hodges combines advanced clinical expertise with a compassionate approach to support families through every stage of their pregnancy journey.

Dr Hodges completed his medical degree with Honours at Monash University, where he subsequently undertook his specialist clinical training in obstetrics and gynaecology. He furthered his academic pursuits by earning a PhD in novel foetal therapy and stem cell biology in 2012. To refine his skills in managing complex pregnancies, he completed extensive international training, including a postdoctoral research and clinical fellowship in foetal therapy and surgery in Leuven, Belgium, followed by a formal Maternal-Foetal Medicine Fellowship at the University of Toronto in Canada. He also holds a qualification in healthcare leadership and innovation from Harvard University. Dr Hodges is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG) and holds subspecialist Certification in Maternal Foetal Medicine (CMFM).

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Hodges is a prominent academic and researcher, serving as a Professor in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He leads an active research programme focused on translational foetal therapy, cellular therapies for foetal lung disorders, and intrapartum care. His work is widely published, and he frequently collaborates with international experts to advance the field of perinatal medicine.
