About Dr Sascha Edelstein
Dr Sascha Edelstein is a Fertility & Reproductive Medicine Specialist in Melbourne, with over 14 years of experience in fertility medicine.
He completed his primary medical qualification at the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 1996. He undertook specialist training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OBGYN) at Groote Schuur Hospital (2004-2007) and sub-specialist training in Reproductive Medicine (2008-2009). Dr Edelstein became a Fellow of the College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (FCOG) of South Africa in 2007 and obtained his Certificate in Reproductive Medicine (College of Medicine) in 2009. He was awarded a M.Med (2008) and M.Phil (2010) for his research in Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) at the University of Cape Town.
In 2013, Dr Edelstein became the Medical Director of the Holistic Assisted Reproductive Treatment (HART) Clinic at the Chris Barnard Memorial Hospital, Cape Town. He worked in this role until he was invited to join Adora Fertility, Melbourne, in 2016. After moving to Australia, Dr Edelstein was awarded his Fellowship with the Royal Australian/New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) in 2018. He is also a member of the Fertility Society of Australia/New Zealand (FSANZ).
Dr Edelstein has a very personal interest in fertility medicine, having gone through assisted reproduction with his wife. He feels extremely fortunate to have his children and has a deep understanding, on both a medical and psycho-social level, of the journey that couples go through when undergoing assisted reproduction.
