Dr Pallavi Desai

Dr Pallavi Desai is a highly respected Specialist Gynaecologist and Obstetrician   currently seeing private patients at John Fawkner Private Hospital, and Epworth Freemasons Hospital. Alongside her private clinical appointments, she also practices as a Specialist Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at Joan Kirner Women's and Children's Hospital at Sunshine Hospital.(public).

Dr Desai completed her primary medical qualification at Bombay University, India in 1992, followed by her MD in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Shivaji University, India in 1993. She later relocated to Australia and became a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RANZCOG) in 2011.

Her clinical expertise spans a wide spectrum of gynaecological conditions, including abnormal uterine bleeding, hormonal imbalances, adolescent gynaecology, contraception, endometriosis, persistent pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, fibroids, abnormal pap smears, vulval disorders, and basic subfertility. She has specialist interests in pelvic floor disorders, including prolapse and urinary incontinence. Dr Desai has expertise in a range of procedures, including laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, colposcopy, open surgery, prolapse and pelvic floor surgery, as well as the management of stress incontinence.

Dr Desai holds professional memberships with the Urogynaecological Society of Australia (UGSA), the Australian Gynaecological Endoscopy Society (AGES), and the International Urogynaecological Association (IUGA).
