Dr Ruth Edwards

Dr Ruth Edwards is a dedicated General Practitioner who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care with a strong focus on Integrative Medicine. She adopts a holistic approach to healthcare, seeking to identify and address the underlying drivers of chronic conditions rather than merely managing symptoms. By looking closely at nutritional status, environmental exposures, and immune system function, Dr Edwards aims to optimise her patients' overall health, wellbeing, and quality of life.

Throughout her career, Dr Edwards has developed a diverse range of clinical interests, particularly in managing complex and chronic health issues. She has extensive experience in supporting patients experiencing chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, and general fatigue. Additionally, she focuses on neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative conditions, including autism and ADHD, as well as behavioural issues in children such as anxiety and obsessive-compulsive tendencies. Her practice also encompasses gastrointestinal health, where she assists patients dealing with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO), and food intolerances.

Dr Edwards completed her medical education at the University of Newcastle, graduating in 1993. Following her graduation, she spent several years working in Emergency Medicine before transitioning into General Practice. She is a Fellow of both the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) and the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (ACRRM). To further support her holistic approach, she has also undertaken continued professional training as a Mindd Practitioner and with the Medical Academy of Paediatric Special Needs (MAPS).
