Dr Zinn gained his undergraduate medical education at the University of Cape Town in 2003. After three years of general surgery training and four years of plastic and reconstructive surgery, he qualified as a plastic surgeon in South Africa in 2013. He went on to pursue a master's degree in lipodystrophy (abnormal fat distribution). In 2015, he completed the renowned Royal Melbourne International Microsurgery Fellowship followed by the Royal Perth Fellowship, and he became a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016.
Dr Zinn is actively involved in the training of junior surgeons at the Northern Hospital and the Peter Macallum Cancer Centre. He is also interested in research and has published his work in prestigious international, Australasian, and South African peer-reviewed publications.
He is a member of the APRSSA (Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of South Africa), ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons).
