Dr Phung Vu

Dr Phung Vu is a highly experienced Ophthalmologist and Oculoplastic Surgeon who is dedicated to providing exceptional eye care. With a focus on both functional and aesthetic outcomes, Dr Vu specialises in adult and paediatric reconstructive eye surgery. He is committed to delivering the highest standard of care, ensuring that his patients receive personalised treatment tailored to their unique needs. Dr Vu completed his medical degree (MBBS) at the University of Queensland in 1991. Following his initial medical training, he served as an Eye Registrar at several regional hospitals and went on to obtain a Master of Medical Science from the University of Newcastle. To further refine his skills, Dr Vu undertook extensive international training, completing a clinical fellowship in Exeter in 2003, an oculoplastic and reconstructive fellowship at the University of Nottingham in 2004, and an orbital fellowship at the University of Amsterdam in 2005. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists (FRANZCO) and a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeons (FANZSOPS).

In his clinical practice, Dr Vu offers a comprehensive range of surgical and reconstructive services. His areas of expertise include complex eyelid surgery, such as cosmetic eyelid reductions, brow lifts, and ectropion and entropion repairs. He is also highly skilled in the excision and reconstruction of periocular eyelid tumours, the management of thyroid eye disease, and orbital surgery. Additionally, Dr Vu performs tear duct surgery, including endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomies to bypass blockages in the tear drainage system, as well as specialised paediatric eye surgeries.
