Dr. OLIVER WATERS

Dr. Oliver Waters is a highly regarded Consultant Gastroenterologist and General Physician who provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of digestive and liver disorders. With a patient-centred approach, he focuses on delivering thorough consultations and advanced endoscopic procedures. His clinical practice is dedicated to ensuring patients receive clear, reassuring guidance and personalised management plans to improve their digestive health and overall well-being.

Dr. Waters has a particular interest in luminal gastroenterology, with a strong focus on inflammatory bowel disease, coeliac disease, and gastro-oesophageal reflux disease. His expertise also encompasses the management of iron deficiency, functional bowel conditions, Clostridiodes difficile infections, and general liver disorders. In addition to bowel cancer screening, Dr. Waters is deeply interested in the gut microbiome and has been actively involved in innovative healthcare solutions, including the establishment of faecal microbiota transplantation services and the development of digital health platforms to streamline patient care.

Dr. Waters began his academic journey in the United Kingdom, where he completed a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology at the University of Edinburgh. He went on to study medicine at the Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) in 2001. After gaining clinical experience in the United Kingdom and New South Wales, he relocated to Western Australia, where he completed his specialist training in Gastroenterology in 2010. To further refine his expertise, he undertook an intensive 18-month clinical research fellowship in Inflammatory Bowel Disease in the United Kingdom. Dr. Waters is a recognised Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP).
