Dr Norman Ma

Dr Norman Ma is a highly qualified Neurosurgeon who specialises in the surgical treatment of both adult and paediatric brain and spine conditions. With a patient-centred approach, Dr Ma is dedicated to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals navigating complex neurological and spinal disorders. His clinical practice encompasses a broad range of surgical interventions, ensuring that each patient receives a tailored treatment plan designed to achieve the best possible outcome.

Dr Ma completed his undergraduate medical degree, obtaining a Bachelor of Human Biology and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from a leading university in New Zealand. He then undertook advanced training in Neurosurgery across several major medical centres in Australia and New Zealand. Following the completion of his advanced training, he was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons. To further refine his expertise, Dr Ma completed two post-graduate fellowships: a paediatric neurosurgery fellowship at a major children's hospital in Brisbane, and a prestigious functional fellowship focusing on movement disorders and pain at a renowned hospital in Bristol, United Kingdom. He has also pursued advanced academic research, undertaking a Master of Philosophy in neonatal research.

In his clinical practice, Dr Ma maintains a strong interest in neuro-oncology, including the treatment of brain tumours, as well as functional neurosurgery and the management of head and facial pain. He is highly skilled in addressing congenital spine abnormalities and performing complex spine surgery. Dr Ma is committed to advancing the field of Neurosurgery through active involvement in research and clinical teaching.
