Dr David Wilson

Dr David Wilson is an Australian-trained neurosurgeon with expertise in the management of conditions affecting the brain, spine and peripheral nerves.

His practice encompasses both cranial and complex spinal neurosurgery, with subspecialty expertise in brain tumour surgery, epilepsy surgery, spinal degeneration, spinal tumours and spinal trauma. He is a Consultant Neurosurgeon at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where he is the lead neurosurgeon for the Comprehensive Epilepsy Service and the lead spinal surgeon for the RPA Hospital Bone and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Unit. He is also Director of Neurosurgery at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, and practices at North Shore Private Hospital and Prince of Wales Private Hospital.

Dr Wilson completed his neurosurgical training across major tertiary hospitals in Sydney and Brisbane, developing broad experience in the assessment and surgical management of cranial and spinal disorders. He subsequently completed a spinal surgery fellowship at Royal North Shore Hospital, and an epilepsy surgery fellowship at The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne, where he further developed his expertise in complex spinal surgery and the surgical management of drug-resistant epilepsy, including stereoelectroencephalography (SEEG).

His clinical approach is centred on careful assessment and selection of the most appropriate treatment for each patient, with an emphasis on minimally invasive and endoscopic techniques where appropriate. His principal clinical interests include degenerative spinal disease, spinal and brain tumours, spinal trauma and epilepsy surgery.

Dr Wilson is committed to ongoing professional development and multidisciplinary care. He is a member of the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia, the Australian Medical Association and the Australia and New Zealand Sarcoma Association.
