Dr Shabeed Chelakkadan

Dr Shabeed Chelakkadan is a highly dedicated Paediatric Neurologist and Epileptologist who specialises in diagnosing and managing a diverse range of neurological conditions in children. Dr Chelakkadan obtained his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from the University of Calicut, graduating in 2000, and subsequently completed his Doctor of Medicine (MD). He undertook advanced training in paediatric neurology as a Paediatric Neurology and Rehabilitation Fellow at a leading tertiary paediatric centre in Melbourne, before completing his specialist fellowship at a prominent children's hospital in Sydney. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), reflecting his high standards of clinical excellence and commitment to the field of medicine.

Throughout his career, Dr Chelakkadan has developed a particular clinical interest in complex and drug-resistant epilepsy. He is highly skilled in integrating advanced therapeutic options, including surgical evaluations, Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) therapy, and specialised dietary treatments such as the ketogenic diet. Additionally, he co-ordinates paediatric electroencephalogram (EEG) services to ensure precise diagnostic monitoring. His broader expertise encompasses the management of headaches, movement disorders, neuromuscular conditions, neuroimmunology, neurodevelopmental disorders, neurovascular conditions, and neurogenetic syndromes.
