Dr Michelle Chen

Dr Michelle Chen is a highly skilled General Surgeon and Colorectal Surgeon who provides comprehensive, patient-centred care. With a focus on delivering optimal clinical outcomes, she specialises in both general surgical procedures and advanced colorectal interventions. Dr Chen is dedicated to utilising modern, minimally invasive techniques to ensure her patients experience a smooth recovery and the highest standard of care. Her reassuring and professional approach helps patients feel supported throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Chen completed her medical degree at the University of New South Wales. She went on to complete her general surgical training through major metropolitan hospitals, obtaining her Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in 2020. Following this, she undertook extensive subspecialty colorectal fellowship training through the Colorectal Surgical Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSSANZ). Additionally, she holds full accreditation in diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopy and colonoscopy from the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA).

In her clinical practice, Dr Chen has a particular interest in minimally invasive surgery, including both laparoscopic and robotic procedures. She routinely performs surgeries for colorectal cancer, diverticular disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and pelvic floor conditions. Her general surgical expertise also encompasses gallbladder and hernia surgeries. Alongside her clinical work, Dr Chen is actively involved in research and teaching, contributing to the advancement of surgical practices through numerous publications.
