Dr Michael Solomon

Dr Michael Solomon is an orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee surgeries. He is particularly interested in direct anterior hip replacement, hip resurfacing, peri-acetabular osteotomies, and other complex hip procedures. He has particular experience in the use of the OMNIBotics® system, which includes the BalanceBotTM and the APEX KneeTM. He also has an interest in kinematic alignment. Dr Solomon is interested in hip surgery for both adults and children including complex hip surgery, pelvic osteotomies, and bone conserving hip replacement surgery, including anterior approach hip surgery which often leads to a faster recovery and without the need for any hip restrictions. Dr Solomon is one of Australia's few surgeons who perform periacetabular osteotomies to protect the hip joint, which may postpone or avoid hip arthritis.

Dr Solomon is internationally recognised as a leader in his area and conducts approximately 850 joint replacements every year. He has also written a number of articles and delivered presentations in Australia and across the world. In addition, he conducts research and is actively involved in a variety of training and volunteer orthopaedic activities.
