Dr Maria Menkens

Dr Maria Menkens is a dedicated Paediatrician who provides compassionate, family-focused care for infants, children, and adolescents. With a gentle and reassuring approach, she is committed to helping families navigate the unique journeys of childhood growth, learning, and overall wellbeing. Dr Menkens believes that every child is an individual with unique potential, and she works collaboratively with parents and carers to support each child's development.

Dr Menkens began her academic journey at the University of Queensland, where she graduated with First Class Honours in Pharmacy in 2000. She subsequently completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at the same institution in 2004. Following her medical graduation, she gained valuable clinical experience working in regional Queensland before returning to Brisbane to complete her specialist training to become a Paediatrician. She is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP), reflecting her high standard of clinical expertise and dedication to her profession.

Throughout her career, Dr Menkens has gained extensive experience working across various major metropolitan and regional hospitals in Queensland, including leading paediatric and maternity facilities. Her primary area of clinical practice is general Paediatrics, with a particular interest in neonatal health, infant care, and Developmental Paediatrics. She is especially passionate about supporting children who experience early learning difficulties and developmental challenges, ensuring they receive the early intervention and support needed to thrive.
