Dr Luke Maccheron

Dr Luke Maccheron is a highly regarded Ophthalmologist and Anterior Segment Surgeon who provides comprehensive eye care. Dedicated to delivering exceptional patient outcomes, he focuses on diagnosing and treating a wide range of complex eye conditions. Dr Maccheron is committed to offering reassuring, patient-centred care, ensuring that individuals feel fully informed and comfortable throughout their treatment journey.

Dr Maccheron completed his Bachelor of Medical Science and his Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery with Honours at the University of Queensland. He went on to complete his advanced ophthalmic training in Brisbane in 2007, followed by a prestigious corneal, cataract, and refractive surgical fellowship in the United Kingdom in 2008. He is a Fellow of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists.

With a broad range of clinical interests, Dr Maccheron specialises in advanced corneal grafting techniques, complex cataracts, and refractive surgery. He also manages medical retinal diseases, such as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration, alongside handling ophthalmic emergencies. In addition to his clinical practice, he serves as a Senior Clinical Lecturer, contributing to the education and training of future Eye Surgeons and helping to manage some of the region's most challenging ophthalmic cases.
