Mr Louis Shidiak

Dr. Louis Shidiak is a highly skilled orthopaedic surgeon specialising in hip and knee arthroplasty, with additional expertise in hip preservation and sports injuries, including hip arthroscopy.

Dr. Shidiak obtained his medical degree (MBBS) from the University of Sydney and completed his junior years at Liverpool Hospital. Prior to his medical career, he earned a degree in Physiotherapy (B. Appl Science) and practised for five years, focusing on rehabilitating orthopaedic and sports injuries, including work with soccer players and athletes during the 2000 Olympics.

After completing advanced orthopaedic training (FRACS-Orth) in Sydney, Dr. Shidiak pursued fellowships in lower limb arthroplasty in Sydney and Hip preservation surgery in Switzerland. He has contributed significantly to the field with numerous publications in respected journals, such as Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research (CORR).

Dr. Shidiak's special interests include Hip surgery, particularly arthroscopic procedures and minimally invasive anterior Hip replacements, which allow for early recovery. He also specialises in treating young adults with hip pathology, employing techniques like pelvic re-orientation, hip arthroscopy, and safe surgical dislocation to address joint issues and delay arthritis onset.

In addition to his private practice, Dr. Shidiak serves as the Doctor to the Parramatta Eels rugby league club and Wentworthville rugby league club, affiliations he has maintained for five years. He maintains a keen interest in sports injuries, particularly knee reconstructive surgery.
