About Dr Brian Hsu

Dr Brian Hsu is an experienced Adult and Paediatric Spine Surgeon based in Sydney, with more than 15 years of expertise in spinal surgery and the management of complex spinal disorders. He specialises in both adult and paediatric orthopaedic spine surgery and is recognised for his patient-focused approach, helping individuals understand their condition and make informed decisions regarding treatment options.

Dr Hsu completed his medical degree at the University of Sydney in 1996 before undertaking orthopaedic surgical training in New South Wales. He achieved Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2007.

Following his specialist training, Dr Hsu pursued advanced subspecialty fellowships in spine surgery at prestigious institutions in the United States, where he gained extensive experience working in high-volume tertiary centres alongside internationally recognised spine specialists. This advanced training further strengthened his expertise in complex spinal reconstruction and deformity surgery.

His clinical interests encompass all aspects of spine surgery and spinal disorders, with particular expertise in adult and paediatric spinal deformity, complex cervical spine reconstruction, spinal osteotomies, and degenerative cervical and lumbar conditions. He is experienced in managing a broad spectrum of spinal problems using both surgical and non-surgical approaches tailored to the individual needs of each patient.
