Dr Kylie Burns

Dr Kylie Burns is a highly dedicated Consultant Cardiologist who is committed to providing the highest standard of cardiovascular care to her patients. With a strong focus on improving patient health and well-being, she specialises in adult congenital heart disease, cardiac imaging, and obstetric cardiology. Dr Burns is known for her reassuring and patient-centred approach, ensuring that individuals feel supported and well-informed throughout their cardiac care journey. Her clinical practice encompasses a broad scope of cardiovascular conditions, with a particular emphasis on managing complex heart issues in teenage and adult patients.

Dr Burns completed her Bachelor of Medicine at the University of Newcastle and the University of New England in 2004. She went on to undertake advanced training in cardiology, achieving her Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) in 2013. To further refine her expertise, she completed a specialised fellowship in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, followed by a subsequent fellowship in Cardiac Imaging, where she gained extensive experience in obstetric cardiology. Dr Burns is a recognised Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.

Throughout her career, Dr Burns has gained extensive experience working across both metropolitan and rural settings. Her time providing essential health services to remote communities in regional Queensland has given her a deep appreciation for the diverse needs of patients from all walks of life.
