Dr Shailesh Khatri

Dr Shailesh Khatri is a premier Consultant Interventional Cardiologist who has served the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers communities for over 25 years. He provides comprehensive adult general cardiology care alongside specialised catheter-based interventions, including coronary angiography, complex angioplasty and stenting, and Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI). He has operated a genuine 24-hour emergency cardiology service across the Gold Coast for over two decades, delivering time-critical primary PCI for acute heart attack management.

Dr Khatri completed his advanced interventional cardiology fellowship in 2001 at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, Canada, under world-renowned interventional cardiologist Professor John Webb, completing over 1,200 complex procedures. Over his career, he has performed more than 15,000 cardiac procedures, including 1,500+ emergency Primary PCIs and 400+ TAVI procedures. Beyond his private practice at John Flynn Private Hospital and Pindara Private Hospital, Dr Khatri pioneered the emergency Primary PCI service at Tweed Hospital over 20 years ago to extend life-saving cardiac care to uninsured patients across the NSW border. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor at Bond University, contributing actively to postgraduate medical education and clinical audit programs.

Dr Khatri adopts a holistic, patient-centered clinical approach that pairs evidence-based investigations and procedural interventions with structured cardiac rehabilitation and lifestyle modification.
