Dr John Spillane

Mr John Spillane is a General Surgeon with subspecialty training in Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery and Surgical Oncology. He has expertise in oesophagus, stomach, skin cancers and melanomas. Mr Spillane has a special interest in the laparoscopic and minimally invasive management of abdominal cancers. He is a consultant surgeon at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Care Centre. Mr Spillane is particularly interested in the nutritional support and exercise physiology of patients undergoing cancer operations.

Mr Spillane obtained his medical degree from Monash University. He is a member of the Australian and New Zealand Gastric and Oesophageal Surgical Association (ANZGOSA) and the Surgical Oncology Society of Australia. Mr Spillane is an honorary lecturer in the School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Melbourne.
