Dr John Eisman

Professor John Eisman is a Staff Specialist Endocrinologist. He initiated Osteoporosis research at the Garvan Institute of Medical. He is Associate Dean for Clinical Leadership and Research, School of Medicine Sydney, University of Notre Dame Australia and Adjunct Professor, School of Medicine, UNSW Sydney. Professor Eisman was Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Bone and Mineral Research; Council member, American Society for Bone and Mineral Research (ASBMR) and co-founder and President, Australia and New Zealand Bone and Mineral Society (ANZBMS). Professor Eisman's research is focused on the epidemiology and genetics of osteoporosis and is committed to translating research findings to improvements in health care delivery through education of patients, carers and doctors. Awards include ASBMR William F Neuman Award, Fellowship of Australian Academy of Health and Medical Sciences and ANZBMS Career Achievement Award.
