Dr James Riddell

Dr James Riddell is a highly regarded Consultant Gastroenterologist who dedicatedly provides comprehensive care for patients experiencing a wide range of digestive health issues. With a patient-centred approach, he focuses on the thorough diagnosis, management, and treatment of disorders affecting the gastrointestinal tract, including the oesophagus, stomach, small and large intestines, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas. He is committed to delivering high-quality, reassuring care, ensuring that each patient receives a clear, well-explained pathway to better health.

Dr Riddell completed his Bachelor of Science before obtaining his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from the University of Otago in 1993. He also holds a Diploma in Occupational Medicine and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. Demonstrating a strong commitment to his field, he is an active member of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Riddell is deeply involved in medical education and professional standards. He serves as a Clinical Senior Lecturer, Medical Student Supervisor, and Lecturer at the Australian National University, helping to train the next generation of medical professionals. He also contributes to the profession as a Regional Examiner for the Royal Australasian College of Physicians.
