Dr Indrajit Karande

Dr Indrajit Karande is a dedicated and compassionate Consultant Paediatrician who specialises in developmental, behavioural, and general paediatric care. With a warm, family-centred approach, Dr Karande is committed to supporting children and their families through every stage of their healthcare journey. He focuses on providing individualised, evidence-based care to help children achieve their full potential, particularly those facing neurodevelopmental challenges.

His clinical expertise spans a wide range of paediatric services, with a particular interest in developmental and behavioural paediatrics. Dr Karande is highly experienced in managing complex conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), developmental delay, and specific learning difficulties. He is also skilled in general paediatrics and neonatology, addressing common childhood concerns such as asthma, eczema, constipation, and infant issues including colic, reflux, and cow's milk protein intolerance. Notably, he is one of the few Specialist Paediatricians in Western Australia trained in the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2).

Dr Karande completed his undergraduate medical degree and postgraduate diploma in child health in India before relocating to Australia in 2010. He undertook extensive advanced training in paediatrics, neonatology, and developmental paediatrics at several leading tertiary hospitals and child development centres across Tasmania and Western Australia. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Autism Diagnosis and is a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP). Additionally, Dr Karande maintains active professional memberships with the Australian Medical Association, the Neurodevelopmental and Behavioural Paediatric Society of Australasia, and the Western Australian Autism Diagnosticians' Forum.
