About Dr. Ibrahim Izzettin
Dr Ibrahim Izzettin is a geriatrician and general physician at HeartWest. He has undergone specialist fellowship training in both general and acute care medicine and is highly dedicated to ensuring the best possible quality of life for his patients.
His special interests as a geriatrician include cognitive impairment and behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD), multimorbidity and polypharmacy, frailty and functional decline, falls and osteoporosis.
He also has an interest in medical education and is currently involved in weekly clinical bedside teaching to medical students.
Dr Izzettin gained his medical degree in 2013 from the University of Tasmania and is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He trained at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne, Alfred Health, and the Intensive Care Unit at Cabrini Hospital Malvern.
In addition to English, Dr Izzettin is also fluent in Turkish and is actively involved in the multicultural community in Melbourne's northern suburbs.
