Dr Nilakshi Weerasinghe

Dr. Nilakshi Weerasinghe is a highly experienced Consultant Physician and Geriatrician with experience in Australia since 2010. She is recognised as a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Physicians, reflecting her dedication and expertise in her field.

Dr. Weerasinghe completed her MBBS degree at the University of Sri Jayawardenepura in Sri Lanka. She furthered her medical training in Australia, specialising in Geriatric Medicine at renowned institutions such as Westmead, Prince of Wales, Blacktown, and Norwest Hospitals. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in research, particularly in the areas of Orthogeriatric care for the elderly and the seasonal patterns of hospital presentations in elderly individuals with common geriatric problems.

With her vast experience and knowledge, Dr. Weerasinghe excels in managing complex medical conditions. Her areas of expertise include the diagnosis and management of dementia, behavioural disorders related to dementia, delirium, osteoporosis, frailty, and polypharmacy. She also has a keen interest in peri-operative care, Orthogeriatric care, and falls prevention in the elderly.
