Dr Hassan Malik

Dr Hassan Malik is a highly skilled General Surgeon with a dedicated focus on Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) and Bariatric Surgery. He provides comprehensive elective and emergency surgical care, utilising advanced, minimally invasive techniques to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Known for his collaborative and patient-centred approach, Dr Malik is committed to delivering thorough, evidence-based treatment tailored to each individual's needs.

Dr Malik holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He is also a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS). To further refine his surgical expertise, he completed a specialised fellowship in HPB and Bariatric Surgery at a major tertiary hospital, followed by an additional fellowship in HPB surgery at a prominent hospital in Melbourne. His foundational training also includes serving as an unaccredited Surgical Registrar in General Surgery across rural Queensland, which provided him with extensive experience in acute surgical management and emergency care.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr Malik is deeply committed to medical education and academic development. He has taught medical students and mentored junior doctors through several leading universities, where he held the academic title of Associate Lecturer for several years. He has also been appointed as an Honorary Adjunct Assistant Professor and serves as a Work-Based Assessment Australian Medical Council Assessor. Dr Malik remains actively engaged in clinical research, contributing to publications on hepatobiliary disease, bariatric surgery outcomes, and advancements in minimally invasive surgery.
