Dr Hamish Alexander is a highly skilled Neurosurgeon and Spinal Surgeon dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care to patients experiencing complex brain and spine conditions. Dr Alexander completed his foundational medical and neuroscience degrees at a leading university in New Zealand. He then undertook advanced neurosurgical training at major tertiary hospitals in Queensland, culminating in his admission as a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2016. Committed to academic excellence, he also earned a Master of Philosophy from a prominent Queensland university for his research into immunotherapy for brain tumours. To further refine his expertise, Dr Alexander completed a prestigious, highly competitive neuro-oncology fellowship at a world-renowned cancer centre in New York, becoming the first Australasian Neurosurgeon to be offered this position.

In his clinical practice, Dr Alexander has comprehensive experience in all aspects of cranial and spinal surgery. He maintains a particular interest in neuro-oncology, skull base surgery, pituitary surgery, and vascular neurosurgery, alongside congenital and peripheral nerve surgery. Beyond his clinical duties, he contributes to the future of medicine as a Senior Clinical Lecturer, teaching the next generation of medical professionals, and remains actively involved in clinical research to advance treatments for brain and spine diseases.
